Category inclusion - what should we do about game lists?

For companies, game lists make sense because a company can span series, can be either a developer, publisher, or both, and series templates do not appear on company categories (see Category:Square for an example).

For game series categories, game lists may need to be deemed officially optional because with simple series, all of the information is on the individual game pages. It gets more complicated when a series is broken into subseries or groupings like based on consoles (e.g. "portable") or decades. Some game series, like Castlevania and Street Fighter, seem to be in need of a list on the category page to better illustrate groupings, chronology, etc. However, maybe not. Maybe a series template really can take care of that for us.

Are release dates significant?

My strategy for listing games on a series category was to put the series template on it and call it a day. :)

It's a good subject to cover since right now there's no real standards for this sort of category.

We reached a consensus of the following:
Company pages:
* Brief history of the company - especially mergers/acquisitions
* list of subsidiaries
* list of games (unless covered on a series page)

Series pages:
* brief history of the series - only if relevant, potentially backstory if it's a well developed series
* list of games
* list of subseries - though should be set up as subcategories

Lists of games can include the following information:
* Game name (and alternates in different english regions)
* Release year
* Console it was released on
